So, it’s been a pretty busy summer so far;
In June, I had the pleasure of travelling to Valencia, Spain for a stunning performance of Verdi’s ‘Requiem’ with the Philharmonia Chorus. It was a wonderful performance and a great experience to work with the Orchestra of Valencia and their conductor Yaron Traub.
Following this, I returned to Rome with the New English Orchestra and Singers to perform in the beautiful Pantheon which is always a fantastic honour. It was a memorable week…singing everything from the highlights of Handel’s ‘Messiah’ and Charpentier’s ‘Te Deum’, to spirituals, hymns and even a bit of gospel!
As I write, I return from a week in our beautiful capital after taking part in a week of workshops with British Youth Opera which has been an intensive experience and a real learning curb. I’ve also managed to fit in some rehearsing with the Philharmonia Chorus for our next project, and am looking forward to singing Beethoven’s 9th Symphony with them at the Albert Hall later in the year.
I’m very excited about the next few months, with rehearsals, concerts and my own recital coming up. I am also looking forward to working on some new repertoire and doing some recording…so watch this space!
